3. Dumbfounded

Have you ever done something so embarrassing that every person you know, never forgets it? And they would bring it up as much as possible which is why you want to hide in a corner and never come out? I have done numerous stuff that left me blushing and ashamed but the most recent one that i'll never hear the end of, occurred at school.

Let me tell you what happened.

Last year, June 23 2014.
My friend needed to change one of her class since it's clashing on her other schedules. So, we went to the fourth floor to talk to the head. There were greetings and I sat down next to her and listened to their conversation. And then the professor asked where we were from.

My friend said. "I'm from Makati and she's from Paranaque".

The professor replied. "Oh! I'm from Antipolo. You guys are so lucky, you're very far and I'm so near here." Then they started laughing.

So, here's the deal, I wanted to tell what I was thinking since, I haven't talked for a while.

I said, "But Sir, Isn't it better if you're close from here?"

Then, there was silence and they laughed. My friend looked at me and said, "Don't you get it? " with a chuckle. I decided to laugh too - even if I don't know why we were laughing.

Then, we said our goodbye's and as we went out, my friend was laughing at me and I asked why. She said, "Sir was being sarcastic. He lives far from here than we are". It sinked in to me and I was blushing and defended myself, "I don't go out very much, that's why I didn't know" and then I laughed at myself for being an idiot.

At the end of the day, all my friends knew what happened. They reasoned out that I'm a Tourism student but don't know where a place is situated and we cracked up for days. I should probably read the geography of the Philippines now.

After a year, It's still one of the jokes in our group. I have a feeling it would take years for them to forget it but I learned my lesson. Shut up, Janine.
